The Company:

Our client is a market leader in wealth management and capital markets in Ireland with over 700 people and offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Belfast, London and Luxembourg and the United States. This newly created role will sit in the Finance team and manage a variety of Tax Advisory & Compliance projects. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing the Group’s tax compliance program, preparation of computations and managing the tax filings process for all the Group’s legal entities. 

  • Collaborating with our external tax advisors and auditors and interaction with Irish Revenue Commissioners and international tax authorities, as appropriate.

  • Reviewing the Group’s international business arrangements including outsourcing and intra-Group management agreements in the context of transfer pricing principles. This will involve countries such as Ireland, United Kingdom, Luxembourg and United States.

  • Review of our existing tax policies and procedures documentation, perform gap analysis, and implement the recommended improvements to ensure we operate in line with best practice.

  • Manage the Group’s strategic tax initiatives (including M&A advice) and help the businesses execute their vision in the context of the overall Group Strategy

  • Provide advice to the Group finance team for upcoming tax changes, emerging tax issues and trends relating to both domestic and international tax.

  • Management of the tax and accounting compliance for performance pay arrangements including share-based remuneration structures. In addition, you will be accountable for the governance and financial reporting around specific shareholder matters and initiatives.

  • Fostering environment of continuous improvement of internal controls, automation to existing processes and financial systems, and ensuring processes and controls are adhered to an.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified accountant with knowledge of Irish tax legislation relevant. 

  • Experience working in a complex financial services environment or a similar senior role in an organisation with large scale and complexity would be an advantage. 

  • Demonstrated ability contributing at strategic level with an ability to effectively engage and manage internal and external stakeholders and advisors.

  • Ability to grasp technical nuances and to communicate complex content in a clear and concise manner is a key requirement.

  • Project management skills and a record of successful execution and delivery capability whilst working to tight deadlines is crucial.

  • Pro-active self-starter who is organised, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent data analytical and advanced Excel, Word & PowerPoint capability.
